Do you ever ask the following questions..  When was the last time you went to a work meeting? Do you find yourself feeling stressed or overwhelmed all of the time? Do you go to bed tired when you know you’ll have to wake up the next morning and do the same thing all over again? That’s why I’m hoping that by working together in this article, we will rejuvenate our minds and bodies and feel happier going to sleep and waking up feeling restored. I’ve also collaborated with Aveeno to share our best tips and tricks for unwinding and calming down before bed, using their restorative skin treatment series. I still remind myself that if I don’t take care of myself, how do I expect to take care of my loved ones? So let’s get started.

1. Dry Brush All Over

Prepping my skin is the first makeup trick I’d like to share. And exfoliating with a dry brush would be great. Cellulite is minimized, and circulation is increased. When I have some free time before getting into the shower or bath, I like to do this. It also makes my skin silky smooth. If you have the time, it’s good to give your skin a little extra exfoliation. My skin on the collarbone and near the shoulders is incredibly dry, so I’ll make sure to dry brush this area as well.

2. Add Epsom salts to bath

I’m going to take a relaxing warm bath now. I like a few bubbles in my wash, but not too many, and I apply a handful of Epsom salts. Along with a few pumps of aveeno’s restorative skin therapy body wash to the spout, this offers a very good fragrance and aroma. This body wash is fantastic for dry skin like mine.

3. Draw bath with Body Wash

Its smooth solution is enriched with aloe, oat, and pro vitamin B5, both of which help to nourish delicate skin. I use a pump of this on my exfoliating gloves to go over some dry areas of my body, such as my shoulders, arms, and legs.

4. Use exfoliation gloves

Baths are one of my favorite things to do, however they take time, which I don’t often have. It’s such a pleasure to be able to do this once every few weeks. Once I’m done exfoliating my whole body, I’ll then rinse off.

5. Shave in the bath

Now is the time for me to shave if I have the opportunity. It’s easy and soothing, and I can wash it off in the water. If you don’t have any shaving cream, use hair conditioner and rinse it off with cold water to prevent razor bumps.

6. Foot Scrub + massage

My feet are another part of my body that I overlook. They put in a lot of effort. I’m going to give them a nice scrub to exfoliate any dead skin cells and to treat any dry broken skin around the heel section.

7. Moisturize all over body

I’m getting out of the water, drying off, and applying Aveeno’s restorative skin therapy repairing cream with prebiotic oat. Since my legs are one of the driest parts of my body, I start with them. This will help to preserve the moisture barrier, which will help to increase skin resistance, and it’s especially beneficial for delicate, distressed, or dry skin.

8. Apply balm to minor skin irritation

I’ll use the Aveeno restorative skin treatment itch relief balm on any places that require extra relief. This would be applied to my shoulders, down my sides, knees, and all other places where small skin irritations exist. It’s non-greasy and absorbs easily, which is a major plus. I like how soothing the restorative skin treatment range is, and it’s ideal for my nighttime routine.

9. Enjoy a cup of tea

Now that I’ve settled down, I’m going to make myself a cup of tea. Fenugreek, along with anise, fennel, blessed thistle, and coriander is a milk-boosting ingredient this tea has and it’s great if you’re breastfeeding. Herbs that have historically been used as galactagogues to assist in the processing of milk. I steep this tea for 10 to 15 minutes before drinking it.

10. Practice quieting the mind

When I have the time, another thing I’ve been doing is practicing mindfulness. I like to sit on the carpet cross-legged. I’m generally a bit tense around here. It’s difficult for me to sleep, but once I get into the flow of things and am able to relax my mind, it’s much easier for me to get ready for bed. Often I just listen to the calm app with the rain ambience going on in the background, and other times I listen to headspace.

11. Care for cuticles

Making sure I add some oil to my cuticles is one of the last things I enjoy doing before going to bed. This is a real treat because my cuticles look so much better when I do it, but I always forget because I’m always washing bottles, cleaning plates, and cleaning my house, so it’s not like I remember to do it until I go to bed. But, when I do, and I’m willing to have a nice night, it’s a real pleasure for me.
